Recollections of... SENIOR CLASS HISTORY With graduation just around the corner 1955 seniors' fancy turned to announcements, caps and gowns, the Senior Prom, and all the other activities leading up to the long-awaited event. That night seniors found themselves reminiscing about the shy eighth graders who were already old hands by their freshman year, and were well into the social and academic swing as sophomores. They recalled, too, when they received class rings and danced amid moonlight and roses at the Junior-Senior Prom. ONIY ONCE—January graduate file into the Baccalcurcate Service. The senior class was part of the great melting pot of the Washington metropolitan area, with a constant flux of students from all over the world. Many came from military families or countries such as Mexico, Israel, Germany, or Peru. In their midst were all-state football players, a State spelling champion, and the best actor in Northern Virginia. IT'S GRADUATION TIME—The speakers for this momentous occasion are Esther Alexander, Don Wosscr-mon, Alan Reynolds, Cloy Burchell, and Charles Cupples. 10
