T uesday The lively halls of George Washington High School were seldom empty, but when they were you could ex- pect that all students were hard at work with their books. Nelson Sanford, like many students, was often puzzled by a tricky math problem. 8:45 am For those students who had to leave the house without eating breakfast, there was the Cherry Tree Inn. Located in the Voca- tional Building, the Cherry Tree Inn provided GW students a nutritional breakfast. Lorna Car- ter and Janie Belton were often seen behind the counter serving people.

Richardson works as an admissions liason officer for West Point Military Academy. 1:42 pm After lunchtime was over, GW- ites knew that more studies were waiting. However, this was some- thing no one looked forward to. Students always took the last few minutes before the tardy bell to take a walk outside in the after- noon sunshine. 4:15pm Even after the 3:30 bell, with all students gone there was still life at GW. The ’78-’79 school year was one of improvements. Much time was spent making GW a better place to go to school. Workers spent many afternoon hours preparing for the laying of the new track.

A good parking place meant a quick return. 1:50 pm An all important decision for many GW students was choosing a class ring. Mr. Bill Edmunds, ring company representative, helped Patricia John- son and many other GW students choose a ring just right for them. 3:45 pm For those students who had to miss a test, there was always the once a week make-up day. Sandra Sater-already 10 minutes late.
