W0IPIID €f 6W 2:15pm For military minded GW-ites, there was L.T.C. Lt. Richardson. Lt. Richardson works as an admissions liason officer for West Point Military Academy. 1:42 pm After lunchtime was over, GW- ites knew that more studies were waiting. However, this was some- thing no one looked forward to. Students always took the last few minutes before the tardy bell to take a walk outside in the after- noon sunshine. 4:15pm Even after the 3:30 bell, with all students gone there was still life at GW. The ’78-’79 school year was one of improvements. Much time was spent making GW a better place to go to school. Workers spent many afternoon hours preparing for the laying of the new track.

aV DaVT IN THE Monday 8:55 am Even with all the complaints,” early mornings at GW found many students bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, gathering outside the gym doors. Behind all the moaning and groaning about having to come to school were positive thoughts. How boring life would be without the oppor- tunities and activities that school provided. 9l15 AM Occasionally, alarm clocks failed to work. This meant students late to school! Mary Williams, in the rush, forgot an important book and had to call home. Hoping someone could bring it to her! 11:30 am GW teachers were always looking for new methods of instruction. Mr Bernard Leigg found one. He de- veloped what he called a “hap- pening”- ideal for students learning to write.

T uesday The lively halls of George Washington High School were seldom empty, but when they were you could ex- pect that all students were hard at work with their books. Nelson Sanford, like many students, was often puzzled by a tricky math problem. 8:45 am For those students who had to leave the house without eating breakfast, there was the Cherry Tree Inn. Located in the Voca- tional Building, the Cherry Tree Inn provided GW students a nutritional breakfast. Lorna Car- ter and Janie Belton were often seen behind the counter serving people.
