Band Brightens Practice, parades, practice, bus trips, prac- tice, practice, practice — all parts of being in the GWHS Band! Under the direction of Mr. Eugene Stryker, the band had a suc- cessful year as usual. Its members bright- ened quite a few halftime performances at football games, sparked holiday parades, and made a commendable presentation at the concert during the Fine Arts festival. Being in the band required musical skill. It entailed also the abihty to follow direc- tions and to be led as a unit. WHAT’S MORE IMPORTANT, good music, or a neat instrument room?
