Fitness Tests Vex Gym Classes GIRLS' ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION The Girls' Athletic Association provides spirited com- petition in volley ball, basketball, bowling, trampoline, badminton, and ping pong. Games are scheduled at regular intervals affording each student a chance to take part. Points are given for participation in these activities. For aquisition of 95 points a letter is awarded. At the end of the year during the Awards Assembly, trophies and recognition are given to the outstanding participants in each activity. Officers for 1962-63 are president, Kaye Shelton, vice president, Rita Rea, secretary-treasurer, Linda Oakes, reporter, Tish Henderson, and points recorder, Bonnie Vicks. Learning by Doing Stressed by lndustrialists INDUSTRIAL ARTS DEPARTMENT In the Industrial Arts classes, students work with materials, tools, and processes indigenous to industrial plants. They plan and construct projects in the area of their choosing under ex- pert supervision. Newly formed to complement the latest addi- tion to the curriculum at G.W., the Industrial Training Club is comprised of members of the Industrial Cooperative Training program. This program offers an opportunity for students to train on-the-job in service, skilled, industrial, and semi-professional pursuits. The objectives of the I.C.T. Club, an authorized chapter of Diversified Occupations Clubs of America, are the fostering of character, leader- ship, craftsmanship, citizenship, and fellowship.
