These Behind the Scenes Efficiency, patience, and endurance seems to be the motto of G.W.'s office staff. During the year they wade through innumerable files, pound typewriters, and iron out problems of both the students and the faculty. Those shining floors C over forty acres of floor space are swept dailyj , warm, well-ventilated rooms, and well- kept grounds are evidences that the custodial staff are on their toes. From early morning until late evening they diligently make the rounds to see if anything is amiss. There's that plea again, Mr. Brann, please call the office. Blinding white, spotless rooms-no, it's not a hos- pital but the domain of the cafeteria staff. Here weekly menus are planned and food is prepared and served with amazing efficiency and alacrity. Books, books, everywhere-at least it seems that way in G.W.'s library! Librarians and student assistants are there to help the uninitiated get acquainted with the Dewey decimal system. In the midst of books, books and more books are found the student library aides, busily helping their classmates find just the right information for that history report which is probably due the next period. These members of the Library Club work during their study hall periods checking out books and learning various phases of library procedure. They have expert technical training under the guidance of their sponsor, Miss Peggy Gibson, assisted by Miss Carol Phillips. W ---. l. Familiar figures on the campus, as they keep GW. clean and beautiful, are Harry Brann, Casey Jones, David Setliff, Joe Ferrell, and Luther Mays. .ha-.M Books, books, everywhere! Mrs. Evelyn Barker, Manager of the Textbook Rental System, directs rentals for the entire school system, with offices at G.W.H.S. More than fourteen thousand of these are issued to G.W. students.
