HAIL AND FARWEWLL TO THE 1959 GRADUATE: For five long years you, the 1959 Carver Graduate, have had constantly our chief thought and have been our responsibility. Our responsibility has been not unlike conditions experienced by the Captain and Crew of a great ocean-liner, whose duty is the safe landing of a large group of passengers. The Principal and Faculty have made countless plans and spent many years both during and after school laboring in order that the fewest number of you, these precious passengers, would be left behind at the end of the five-year voyage. The good ship Carver has carried vou over safely a s far as planned. You alone can decide whether this is the end or the COMMENCEMENT. You can never truly know the true worth of what you have already accomplished until you meet someone who would gladly make any sacrifice if only he could truly possess a high school education.
