RC Division Reactor Controls The men of Reactor Controls Division operate and maintain vital instrumentation and control equipment necessary for the operation of George Washington’s nuclear reactors. After two years in the intensive nuclear power training program, prospective reactor operators report to the ship for further training and qualifications. These highly skilled operators maintain a high level of proficiency through continuous training, complex drills and rigorous examinations. Utilizing state of the art equipment, technicians provide expert electronic testing and repair capability ranging from simple soldering to the most complex circuit analysis. It is this commitment to professional excellence that allows every member of Reactor Controls Division to play a vital role in supporting George Washington’s mission.
