From atop the “0-10” level, the Signalmen, led by SMC (SW) Mundy, communicate with other Allied ships via flag-hoist, flashing light, and semaphore. Additionally, the Signals Team coordinates the ship's sideboys and ensures distin guished visitors are rendered proper honors. The SM's diligent training and hard work contributed to GWs second “Green C for Communications excellence. The Quartermasters navigate the ship through the world's waterways, fixing” the ship’s position via visual aids, radar satellites, and celestial bodies 24 hours a day. Maintaining and correcting charts covering the entire globe, GW’s Quartermasters successfully navigated the ship over 65,000 miles, including passages through the Straits of Gibraltar. Messina.
