G-3 Sailors were known to all as “MAGRATS,” a name given for their ability to scamper up and down five stories of vertical trunks. Down, down, down they went to the bowels of the ship to a special place known only to the privileged few ...“the magazines.” This was the place where the MAGRATS performed their magic in preparing each round of ordnance for the airwing.
