SPIRIT Walton's got the what . . . what . . . what, what, what? Walton's got Spirit with a capital HS . Walton students and faculty hold on to their spirit and pride with a tenacity unmatched by any other school. Walton's '87-'88 classes cre- ated a live wire of excitement that lasted the entire year. 3, In the fall, Football Fridays generated awe- some Raider energy and excitement. A certain Mrs. Irbach could be seen sporting outrageous spirit hats while other teachers proudly dis- played red, white and blue attire and pride buttons. A new group of extra-spirited Seniors cropped up at the games and added enormous pep to all the cheers. fWho could miss'Larry Ritter, Nathan Kim and Ted Keen with the red, white and blue faces and hair!J Brent Goolsby, Keith Grunewald and Chris Atwood led the Ragin' Raiders football team in their quest for the region title with characteristic Walton prowess on the gridiron. Walton's vivacious enthusiasm extended to all school activities. Student Pride Day took on a whole new meaning as over 550 superior stu- dents achieved recognition. Numerous clubs outdid themselves as they clamored- to win first place in the homecoming float and ban- ner competition. The Frosh, Silly Sophs and Jammin' Juniors lived up to their reputations and tried to over- power each other during pep ralliesg once again proving that Walton students have no qualms about showing the pride that they have in their school.
