ll llllllll V. GIRLS TRACK he Girls Varsity Track Team ran . away with top honors and a super record for . the 1987 season. The f victorious Raiders ' finished fifth in the county and fourth in the region. Coach Sheskey could not have hoped for a more dedicated team, Pm very impressed with these girls, and our program continues to improve every year. The Lady Raiders formed an im- pressive bond of teamwork and spirit that lasted the entire season. Encouragement J! F l , a PIIWER and support from teammates kept everyone racing for the finish line in top form. Lead sprinter, Sari Gruber, says, Even though track is an individual sport, all the girls felt really close and worked together. It made the season special. Highlights of the season included the state and region meets. The hard work paid off during the confrontation with one of their toughest rivals, Lassiter High School. The season culminated with the awards banquet where Laurie Yunger received coveted most valu- able runner.
