G0 T0 XLL-COUN'l'Y VARSITY GULF 5, oach Joe Wilson, 0 in his first year with the golf team, would not have asked for anything more. Great talent makes great coaches, com- mented Coach Wil- son. The team was definitely an enthusi- astic group. Players Mike Cress and Carlyle Rood, led the team. The two players both earned the honor of being on the All County Team. Other players, G.A. Man- gus and Chris Casdia, helped the team have consistent performances. Raiders expressed positive attitudes during all of their tournaments. The action and excitement reached a fe- ver pitch during the match against one of Walton's most powerful ri- vals, Wheeler High School. The pressure was on as the Raiders were down during the final holes. The scales of victory tipped to the Wal- ton side, and the Raiders emerged victorious. This is one example of those performances which earned Coach Wilson the Marietta Daily Journal's Coach of the year award. The honor was a fine way to wrap-up the season of exciting and skillful Walton Varsity Golf. KQV 47. ff' M. ,ft My .ri It 1 ,. ,V 3. ,A . ids fra . ' lf 5 if iw, M f ,wwf '74-VARSITY GOLF r
