Dedication, devotion, and drive were the watchwords of the '86 season for these six- teen talented girls. After grueling tryouts lasting over a month, Coach Younglove had the seemingly impossible task of selecting the proverbial cream of Walton's tennis crop. When the team tri- umphed at the County Championship Tournaments and seized the second place region title, it was obvious that Coach Younglove could not have made any better choices. However, success never comes easy, and the Varsity girls found this to be true. Their incredible enthusiasm and team spirit helped them endure those long practices and tiring matches. Coach Younglove always says, Teamwork pays off . There is no doubt that the strong sense of pride boosted the Raiders to winning status and cemented friendships long after the season ended. The sweat and strained muscles certainly paid off for the Girls' Varsity Tennis Team. 1. Great game Jennifer! 2. Nail it Julie! 3.
