U3 IIEEU IJ E5 'LVIETUEUU Varsity Boys Tennis Team was outstand- ing this year. They prepared by reviewing drills for singles and doubles play. Chris King, the captain, played at Walton for 4 years as the most valuable player. Mike Brooks and Chris Clay are iil doubles team in the region and the ii! team in the state. Peter Jacobsen placed 2nd in the region. A memorable event was when the players received balloons before the final tourna- ment against Wheeler. They assumed the balloons were from Lassiter, who had been defeated by Wheeler. To their surprise, the balloons were from Coach Montez Bowen. This year's team kept up the tradition of strong tennis at Walton by ending with an LINDEFEATED record. 86 ' Varsity Boys Tennis
