ROBERT L. SCHAIN, PRINCIPAL The theme for this year's MOSAIC -the Future - is a significant one. lt indicates clearly that your eyes are on the coming days and years. Perhaps this is as it should be. However while emphasis may well be placed on the future, experience has taught us that a successful future is based on the past and the present. Nothing in life begins from nowhere and suddenly sprouts success and happiness. You have now completed your high school education. The years that have passed have also given you experiences, knowledge, skills, and attitudes. At Wingate, we have emphasized these features of the educa- tional program that will give you the tools with which to plan a successful future for yourselves and society. Every generation has entered the mainstream of society expecting that the most exciting times are just around the corner. Essentially this is true since every generation has been more exciting and productive than the previous ones. Certainly, in our times, things change so quickly that this generation can really expect great changes in their adult lives. From this point of view, your future looks exciting. We have heard it said that Today begins the rest of our lives. Let me wish all of you the best of all possible lives - lives filled with health, happiness and success.
