QL i L-I A HIGH FASHION IN THE MAKING A HOME ARTS Out of the classes of our Home Arts Department come our future homemakers. Miss Dorothy Hirschhorn, chairman of this department, feels that in these classes girls gain valuable experience concerning foods, nursing, and clothing. Foods, for example, gives girls the op- portunity to learn about foreign nations, their people, their habits, and their ideas. Through the activities of the Bon Ap- petit Club. directed by Miss Margaret Kennedy, girls are encouraged to become connoisseurs of fine foods by visiting good restaurants that specialize in foreign cooking. Girls interested in sevving and fashions are able to take a course in clothing under the direction of Mrs. Gertrude Bramson and Mrs. Pearl Ponti. They are taught basic sewing skills and are kept informed of current fash- ion trends. In Home Nursing, taught by Mrs. Grace Turecan, girls are given an opportunity to prepare for emergencies that may happen in the home. Lklllil N QAQKEIIIQ
