U0 QOOQ The courses that are handled by this department 60600 are Stenography, Typing, Secretarial Practice, Transcription and Clerical Practice. The teachers vvho are responsible for the success of these courses are: ivlrs. Deborah Feldman, lVliss Lois Gutenplan, lVlr. Joseph Johnson, lVlrs. Gloria Kamen, lVlrs. Ann Landsman, lVlr. Julius Levy, lVlrs. Rose Neches, Miss Bertha Shurtock, and lVlrs. Dolores Vertucci. As ot September '59, a new face has been added to this group of fine teachers, that of the gracious lVlrs. lda Bush. The various courses are made very interest- ing because of the ingenious vvay in which they are presented to the student. For instance, the pupils in the Secretarial Practice classes have 'time cards' which they place in the 'in' rack upon entering their class and then when the class is over, they place their cards in the 'out' rack. The students also learn to operate the svvitch- board and lBlVl lvlachine. They have the added en- joyment ot using individual telephone extensions. SVI Cha rm lVlR.
