cene ur the This year at Clark the mode of the day called for the Ivy League look for boys and girls. Buckles, crew necks, car coats, and pin stripes dominated the scene. Blue jeans were practically extinct as they gave way to flannels or wash pants for boys, and Bermuda shorts or plaid slacks for girls. Shoes for both the fellows and girls featured var- iety: pointed toe high heels for dressing up, and all shades of suede for girls; while the boys, too, went for suede oxfords or glossy black loafers for school and dress. Elvis Presley turns up in another familiar scene. June Tkacz and Kathleen Vereb’s locker is loaded with books, coats, and every other conceivable thing. 14
