Coach Emerson Aldrich and his diamondmen had one of the best seasons in the history of George Rogers Clark High School baseball. With 10 victories, 8 defeats and 2 ties to their record, it was the first time in many a year” a Pioneer ball club had won more ball games than they lost. While GRC’s three .300 hitters, A1 Carpen, Ted Herman and Bob Figler, pounded enemy pitching, hurlers like Ed Doma- sica, Pete Carmichael and Bud Golubiewski stopped the oppo- sition on the defensive end. DIAMONDMEN HAVE BEST SEASON IN 10 YEARS Probably the team ' s biggest thrill of the year was their 4-3 defeat of the unconquered Raiders of Gary Emerson. With the loss of only two players, pitcher Bud Golubiewski and outfielder Joe Kvasnica, Clark fans can expect a better team in ' 52. Who knows, maybe they will be the conference champs. ROW 1 — F.
