' As freshmen the c1ass started its high schooi career under the capahle leadership of Miss Evelyn Carlson, sponsor, Charles Westfall, presidentg George Ho11ic1c, vice-president: John Novotney, secretary, and Stanley Maton- ovich, treasurer. Fun of enthusiasm, the freshmen of 1938-1939 started worlc on their Hrst social undertaking, The Polar Bear Fling. During its sophomore year the ctass sped right atong and started out on the second 1ap of its high schoot experience hy eiecting George Ho11ic1c, presidentg Sammy Condes, vice-president: Helen Fagyas, secretary, and Betty Martin, treasurer. 'As their contrihution to the social whirl the sophomores presented the unique and highly successful HDerhy. Throughout the junior year the class was lead hy Lawrence Barnes, president: Andrew Duheclc, vice-president: Armina Mitchell, secretary, and Joe Pardelc, treasurer. June Mad was selected as the junior p1ay, which was successful enough to merit a return performance. Drawing to the close of the junioryear, the c1ass reached the peak of success hy presenting the annual junior-senior prom, which that year was catled The Camivat in Pasteisf, With the heginning of the senior year it was found that the c1ass tool: over the ieadership of the school in its stride. Qtticers elected to guide the last year at Ctarlc were Charles Westfall, president, Andrew Duheclc, vice- president: Betty Martin, secretary: and Armina Mitcheti, treasurer. Ed gajlguhielslci was elected president of the student council, the student governing y. A hitarious farce, HChar1ey,s Auntf, was chosen as the p1ay which the seniors presentedg and, as always, the c1ass ot '42 had a hit on its hands. Ctimaxing the seniors' four years at Clark, the graduation exercises hrought to a successful close their high school days.
