Cigrman ls' C res men Home economics club This year the Home Economics Club pre- sented a challenge to all its members. Through this organization, all the members gained a true insight into the Home Econom- ics profession. The programs that were presented provided a wonderful background to the members as future wives and mothers in tomorrow's business world. The club provided an excellent chance to meet new students and get to know old stu- dents better. Members in the club form al- most a sister relationship that helps build a bond between the members of the Home Economics Department. The club has much to offer any girl who is interested in her home, her family, and her husband, and in establishing a sound, happy family in which to raise the next generation. Elementary council IKNEELINGI Sue Plumb, Carol Murphy, ISEA TED! Debby Pope, Leatha Wheeless, Vicki Medlin Members eagerly await their first customers at the Spaghetti Supper. Dr. Watts auctions olT his wares at the Spaghetti Supper auction. It's not easy to be a teacher, but Elementary Council can ease the pain. Their theme this year was Preparing for the Child , and at the monthly meetings, outstanding faculty members spoke about different areas of the curric- ulum. Highlights ofthe year include a get acquainted picnic at Centennial Park, the annual Spaghetti Supper and Auction, and Christmas caroling at St. Thomas Hos- pital. The Council also helps staff the Children's Nursery at Vanderbilt Hospital, and assists the Peabody Teachers Recruitment Program by personally answering letters from prospective students inquiring about our Elementary Education program.
