Every woman on campus is eligible and invited to par- ticipate in the program. Intramurals are set up lor the seasonal sports of hockey, volleyball, basketball, softball, and tennis. At the end ol' each seasonal sport a color game is played between the Maroon and Blue teams, which are composed ol' all the active members of the X'V.R.:X. .-Xt the Spring Candlelight Service a color cup is given to the color team which acquired the 11105t points during the year, a plaque is given to the individual team which acquired the most points during the year. A trophy is given the color team which wins the color basketball game, and a trophy is given the individual team which wins in the volleyball intramurals. 111 addition certificates of recognition are given to an out- standing girl in the fl'CSlll1l2lll, sophomore, junior, and senior class. Men's Intramural Program The men's intramural program began the school year with a touch football tournament. Four teams played in the double round-robin allair and competition was so keen it took a play-oll' game to determine the campus champion. The Rebels, an all-graduate team, came out on top by edging past the Terrible Ten 7-0 for the title. lntrznnural basketball once again provided the greatest amount oli interest and enthusiasm lor men students. Eight teams competed in the lall quarter league and the winter tplarter round-robin tournament. Teams entered were Rebels, ti-Niners, Conlederates, Bill's Boogers, Clowns, Hawkeyes, XVrecks, and Phi Chi's. The Rebels won both leagues and the ti-Niners finished second each time. The basketball lever hit its peak during the single elimination tournament at the end ol the winter quarter. The Ii-Niners won the tournament and the Phi Cl1i's finished second. The Rebels did not play in this tournament. lndividual, dual, and team sports in golf, tennis singles, tennis mixed doubles, and softball were on the schedule for the spring quarter. Kula Ellison.
