Pi Gamma Chi Sorority, the oldest sorority on the campus, was originally a literary society which came to Peabody from the University ol' Nashville in l889. It was then known as the Girls' Chapter ol George Peabody College. 'l'o be, not to seem, the motto ol the sorority, is in the high ideals ol' all its members. The Pi Gams started the past year with a tea, followed by the Beaelleombers' party and the Roman party. Hell l'Veek was preceded by a pledge banquet at the Rich- land Country Club, and was climaxed by the impressive formal initiation ceremony. A slumber party, the Wfhite Rose Ball in honor ol pledges, and a square dance were other outstanding events of the year.
