FOOTBALL Peabody Colleges intratnural program got oil' to a rousing start in September with at well balanced football schedule. Interest was high and cotnpetition keen in the race for suprentacy and headlines. Under the super- vision ol' .Iohn Clhellman. at graduate student from Georgia, the well rounded prograni was the start needed to establish and maintain interest in extra curricular activities. The champion from the Iour teams participating in the football tournament, was the high llying Philosophers team who went undefeated throughout the tournament. Close behind was the always dangerous Blues who lost only to the Phil'osophers. Responsible lor the champions success were such stalwarts as lflavious Smith, Frankie l3l,l'lCi-l it:xl Roux lm!! In lliglllf Charles Griflin. Huddy Lansford, Ken Burleson, Ken lVallac'e and Ralph john- son. For the runner up teatn it was such men as Alim Patterson, Richard Graves, .Xllan Ballanger, Robert Davis and joe Potts that made the team a constant threat for the championship. Other teams participating in the tournament were the Phi Chis and Lions. The All-Star team lost to the all victorious Philosophers. Playing on the All-Star team were -Iantes Breece, -lack XVakeIield, Steve Hatfield, Tony Carvalho, XValter Reasner, Bobby Medaugh, Charles IVaites, Jimmy Cox and Aloe Potts. 'l'hroughout, the season a good time was had by all participantsg good sportsmanship was in evidence at all times, a credit to good organization.
