George Speed, Larry Peterson. l'Vest Hall was even more ol' an International House than usual this year, with students from Hawaii, Formosa, Okinawa, the Phil'ippines, India, Pakistan, Austria, Germany, and Japan, not to mention various Latin American countries or such foreign countries as Texas, New York, ete. The spirit of cooperation was excellent in spite of the different backgrounds of the residents. The greatest tragedy of the year was the theft of the new television set during the Thanksgiving holidays. However, not to be outdone, the men dipped into the treasury Qaud their own pocketsj and replared the set Prf'.vi1If'11I ..., . l'ir'e-Pmsirlwrll 'fVr'1ls11rr'V . . . Fire Chief ...... llerul Rr'.s11lr'r1l .,..,., ,'19Sf.YfIllIl Ilwarl Rliflfflll ,,.. l age 100 with one bigger and better than ever, this over the pro- tests of some first floor resident who yearned for the Calm which reigned after the theft. The winter quarter was marked by two social events, a dessert party in cooperation with Graduate Hall, and the annual Open House. The latter was the work ol Jimmy Cox and his many helpers. lVith the coming of spring, and Campusology 405, the inmates of YVest began looking forward to vacation rather than worrying about how to pay for the new TV or how to pass llnals. EA T HALL Under the able leadership of Billie Kuykendall tl1e girls of East Hall' have enjoyed a very interesting and successlul year. Miss Mary Parkinson served as Head Resident this year and had as her assistant Miss Ann Graham. Activities in the dorm have been niany and varied. To list a lewg the annual welcoming parties held at the beginning ol each school year, tl1e annual DORMITORY llllgf? 1 02 Halloween Party given in cooperation with Conled' erate Hall which was especially good this year, and of course the Peanut Christmas Party which was preceded this year by a decoration Partyn which proved to be as much lun as the party. Open House, held this year on February 14, was a great success. The high spirits of the girls themselves did much to make this event a highlight of the school year.
