Science covers the broad field of human knowledge concerned with proved theories and facts held together by logical principles. Students discover and test theories by the scientific method. In the field of science Butler offers basic biology, chemistry, general science, and physics. Through these courses science students study various current questions plaguing the modern scientist. Our Sounds of Music . . . Chorus Melody, rhythm, and pitch are skillfully combined to create har- monius strains of music. The Butler Chorus presents a Christmas Concert, performs at the Exchange Club Fair, televises programs. At the Music Educators National Conference held in Atlanta, the chorus performed in a creditable manner. The chorus under the direction of Miss Hadaway is a source of pride to Butler. MISS JANE HADAWAY MR. B. H. WALKER Band The Butler Band under the direction of Mr. B. H. Walker earned sixty-eight honor medals for the top rating of superior at the State Music Festival in the spring of 1966. Our band re- ceived the highest ratings of any school in the 10th District of the state for band solo and ensemble. A professional recording was made which sold over one hundred copies. A spring concert along with four concerts were also performed. Band Director 30
