HOME EC. CLUB The Home Ec. club is not just a club for Home Ec. ma- jors, anyone can join. They want to make students aware that home economics is not just cooking and sewing. There are many career op- tions with a Home Ec. major. The Home Ec. club provides care packages to students twice a term which both gives students a nice treat and raises money for the club. They have fashion shows twice a year and each spring the club goes to the Oregon Home Ec. Association con- vention. EDUCATION CLUB The Education Club ' s main goal is to keep in contact with all education Majors, telling them about educa- tion in Oregon State as well as in our school. The club holds seminars once a month, and anyone is welcome to come. Home Economics Club: Leslie Bayha, Lucinda Classen, Angie Dunn, Loree Edens, Cindy Kline, and Sharon Schulz. Education Club: Erica Evans, and Elysia Jacobson.

Encourage- ment comes in the form of monthly meetings, which have guest speakers lec- turing on topics varying from math and physics to biology. Another purpose of Sigma Zeta is to recognise the acheive- ment of high scholarship among those fitted for membership in the society. The most dramatic way this is done is in sending a senior to present his or her research project to the national meeting which is in April. While being active in academics, Sigma Zeta is also involved with fund raising, outings, and most im- portantly, setting up an atmosphere where students of science can get togeth- er and have a fun time. Sigma Zeta was founded in 1925, George Fox College ' s Beta chapter was founded in 1978. Our chapter has the distinction of being the only Sigma Zeta club on the west coast. This years officers are: Dr. Voth, Advis- er; Bonni Grotjohn, secretary; and the co-presidents are Steve James and Keith Augustin.
