One purpose of the club is to have periodic meetings at which music is played or discussed. Another purpose is to help with the student recitals and take charge of the recep- tions afterwards. The highlights of the year was the concert by Miss Priscilla Doble, Soprano. The concert was a benefit for the piano which was procured and is being used in the music hall. 30

Standing: Mel Lamm, Wayne Cole, Dick Zeller, Larry Ross, Quentin Nordyke, Ralph Cammack, Sam Morse, Dick Mott, Bill Hopper and Roland Hartley. The Singing Men of George Fox College sponsored, as their main activity, the sixth annual Gospel Quartet Festival held in the Newberg High School auditorium on Sunday afternoon, February 13. Allan Hadley and Gene Smith acted as masters of ceremonies for the seven quartets who performed for the over-flow attendance. Working on the theme of Hearts for Christ were chairmen: Larry Ross, publicity; Quentin Nordyke, decorations; Charles Tuning, head usher, and Ralph Cammack, traffic director. An initial activity in the academic field is the presentation of a $100 scholar- ship to be given to a prospective student who has an active interest in music and will attend George Fox College. 31
