T he- Y.M.C.A. and Y.W.C.A. were quite ac- tive this year with a high percentage of the school enrolled as members. A student mixer, big sister picnic, stag mix, and formal reception in the first week of school were to welcome and introduce the new students. The Y ' s sponsored the new pastor of the Friends church, Lloyd Cressman, in chapel meetings. The Y.W. gave a few Thanks- giving baskets. There was no caroling this year because people could not put candles in the win- dows. At the beginning of second semester a second reception was held. The Y.W. sponsored a suc- cessful Father-Daughter banquet in February. The Friends church sponsored chapel talks by Moses Mendenhall for the Y clubs. The Y.W. made a donation to the world service fund. Its potluck dinner was successful and they had a May Day breakfast. Y.M. officers for this year, shown at the top of the opposite page were, front row, Roberts, Crisman, Michener, Thomas ; back row, Roberts, Lewis and Professor Lewis. Y.W. officers shown above include Swanson, Lewis, Smith, Perisho.
