STUDENT LIFE 57 O o Freshmen Season With Revenge Effective coaching enabled the Freshman Football Team’s defense to start the season at full capacity. Game experience bolstered offen¬ sive potency, but practice was the determining factor. Coaches Ken¬ neth Freeman and Roger Wood led the team to post a good 4-2 overall record. A strong season finish was climaxed by the last-game victory over Oakton. In Marshall’s second competition of the year against Oakton, the Statesmen won the revenge they worked for. The only difficulty was encountered by the specialty teams, but nothing held the Statesmen from an impressive season close.
