Mr. Elam K. Hertzler Marshall, this year, could never have attained such success without the experienced advice and ef¬ forts of our principal, Mr. Elam K. Hertzler. Under¬ taking the challenge to continually strive for the development of the minds of the student body, he has strengthened the high standards and repu¬ tation of our school. Heading the administrative staff is Mr. T. Page Johnson, Assistant Principal for Administration. Mr. Johnson not only handles his administrative obliga¬ tions, but he also delivers informative lectures and gives meaningful direction to everyday school prob¬ lems. Filling the equally important position of the As¬ sistant Principal for Instruction, Mr. Clinton DeBusk guides the school ' s academic life and the faculty ' s teaching methods. In .addition to fulfilling various administrative responsibilities, he is responsible for keeping apace with the latest instructional tech¬ niques and directing student organizations. Aiding the two assistant principals is Col. Charles Baker, the Administrative Assistant. Performing a wide variety of duties, he is mainly responsible for attendance and the distribution of books. Completing the administrative team is Mr. Harold L. Hackney, the Director of Guidance. Ne w to Marshall this year, he is well qualified to handle the demands of the. Guidance Department. Mr. Hackney often gives students helpful advice on present problems and future expectations. 186
