NEW ACTIVITY BUS Each year, the students sell magazine subscriptions representing the Curtiss-Publication Company. The profit from these sales is used for the cost of the annual to eliminate advertisements in the an- nual and for various other purposes designated by the student body. This year the greater portion of the profit was used to purchase a new activity bus. We, the Annual Staff, senda thank you to all sub- scribers who made our bus possible.

Genoa won first football game with St. Paul, score 13-6. Genoa wins second game of the season. County Government Day was held in Fullerton. Genoa played Silver Creek to win the third football game of the season. Osceola beat Genoa, this was our first loss. Frehman-Sophomore party was held. Genoa played an afternoon game with St. Ed, winning the fourth game season. The high-school was presented the first assembly program of the year. Stromsburg was skinned by Genoa. Clarks was defeated by Genoa. The school held open house for the parents. The Junior class presented their play, which was quite successful. We enjoyed the second assembly program of the year. The Fall Musical. School was dismissed for Thanksgiving vacation. Basketball season began Friday. We beat Albion, score 44-36. The Band Clinic was held, and six other schools attended. We were entertained by another assembly program. Fullerton played a baffling game with us, but we won 63-61. Silver Creek was clipped by a.score of 69-44. The fourth basketball game was played. The score 64-38. Genoa won. The Christmas program was conducted under the direction of Mr. Kofoid. M-B-N Conference was held at Albion, and Genoa came home with the first place trophy. Osceola played us. We won by two points, 55-53. The end of the first semester. St. Paul Played here. Genoa 72 - St. Paul 43. Another win. Genoa beat Clarks, 67-41. Genoa played St. Ed. again. Winning once more, 68-47. We played basketball at Polk. Won 66-42. Cedar Rapids went down in defeat. Score 88-54. Newman Grove lost when we outscored them, 75-62. Declamatory Contest. Three classes were represented. First round of District Toumament at Clarkson. Genoa 77 - Platte Center 29. Cedar Rapids had many good players, but Genoa topped them again 66-52. Genoa played Clarkson, but they were too much. Clarkson came out on top by a score of 62-57. of the The One Act Plays were presented to the school under the direction of Mrs. Coon- ley. Assembly program, which was very interesting. Title, The Conquest of Space. Another assembly program was presented. District Music Contest at Osceola. There were quite a few entries. Senior Sneak Day. 'Y District 'Hack Meet held at Columbus. State Track Meet at Lincoln. This was Senior Day. Commencement was held on Wednesday. -44-
