Under the direction of the music instructor, Mr. Igiranlil liguer, a Fall Musicale was given November 9, and a similar concert was given arc . October 16, the band participated in the activities of Band Day in Lincoln, where they marched and played during the half of the football game. On December 1, Genoa held its eighth annual band clinic under the direction of Mr. James King of Hastings College. 260 band members from seven schools participated, and gave a concert for the public that evening. 22 glee club members joumeyed to Albion, January 14 and 15, and participated in the Choral Clinic along with 20 other schools, under the direction of the guest conduc- tor, Mr. David Foltz of the University of Nebraska. The music department participated in the Goldenrod Music Festival March 29 at Osceola and also in the district contest at Fullerton, April 14 and 15. They received ratings and criticisms on their performances. The final musical event this year was an outdoor concert given by the band, May 11. -36-
