e Feb Mar r Ma 20 21 Sev ral members of Genoa's music department attended the Vocal Clinic 2 at Albion Eleven of the Ag boys and their advisor, Mr Schnieder, attended the Old Reliable Hereford Show and Sale at Grand Island Their judvlnv team placed seventh in competition wlth twenty other schools The auditorium was the scene of an all school party and dance The F H A members had a 'Family Fun Nlvht The parents of the members were invited to a program presented by the girls After the program lunch was served and the remainder of the evening was spent socially Genoa attended the Class C Basketball Tournament at Osceola I their first two games Genoa defeated Stromsburg and Clarks, but dropped the finals to Dwight Assumption, winner of the tournan nt The students enjoyed the last of a series of National Assembly programs Delbert Harter gave an educational, humorous, and fascinatlnr talk tell ing of his experiences as an explorer, aviator, athlete, mUSlCl8H, sea dlver, and actor Lois Dannelly and Eddie Pearson gave their readings at the Goldenrod Dramatic Festival in Polk Weather conditions prevented the play cast from going The Pep Club girls honored the athletic boys at a banquet After the banquet a movie entitled, 'The Red Stallion, was shown The Genoa F F A Chapter held a Father and Son banquet Some of the boys gave reports on their projects and a movie was shown Members of the Vocational Ag Classes and Mr Dchnieder attended the Angus judging show at Columbus They returned wlth numerous ribbons Musicale It featured the numbers prepared to go to contest and several selections by the band The band and a few other music students were guests at the Goldenrod Music Festlval in Stromsburg The Girls' Trio, two vocal soloists, the brass quartet, and saxaphone tr1o gave numbers Marilyn Nansel, Alta Clausen, their sponsor, Miss Paulson, and Chapter Mother, Mrs Coonley were delegates at the State F H A Convention in Lincoln e Senior Class went on Sneak Day II 13 1 Warren Lund and Eugene Pierson were delegates at the State F F A 10 Convention in Lincoln Other F F A members also attended the judging contest The girls' trio, two vocal soloists, brass quartet and saxaphone trio competed in the District Music at Central Clty The F H A sponsored the opening of a 'Teen Canteen ln the Legion Hall It was oepn to all high school students and teachers The Seniors presented their play in matinee and evening performances It was entitled 'por Pete's Sake The cast lncladed verett Kretz, Joyce Westring, Edd1e Pearson, Barbara Linnerson, Lois Dannelly Irvin Smith, Alyce Czarnick, Warren Lund, Eugene Pierson, Jean Holmstedt Jeanette Ramaekers, and Martin Taylor The F H A girls entertained the F F A boys at an old fashioned box social ' The evening was spent square danclng and playing games The Jun1ors honored the Seniors at a banquet and prom The theme was a Southern Garden The auditorium was the scene of a Freshmen SOPDOMCPS party.
