After tne brlef sketch we've 1ven you Don't you agree we're a pFOm1SlH crew In all of our ventures me're sure to succeed And pleasant llves we all shall lead By Barbara Llnnerson Class Motto nYnowledge is the Passport of L en Color Crimson and White SNEAh DAY All of the seniors will remember April ll, 1950 as our Sneak Day The chartered bus was walting for us at 5 15 and everyone was there with the exceptlon of Jack Reitz who was stirred out of bedby Wlllie an Lois Odermatt who had the privilege of the bus comlng to her front door Our first stop was Seward for our breakfast and a visit to the bakery W believe it has the best doughnuts in the state, and we should know as we ate enough of them' One of the main features of the day was visltlng Arbor Lodge, the home of J Sterling Morton who was the founder of Arbor Day We toured the house and grounds and visited John Brown's cave We crossed the Missouri River and travelled through Iowa reach our destination of Omaha After a delicious dlnner at Brandeis, we toured the store's various departments The most interesting was the candy department where we received a free sample of their candy Everyone spent the afternoon doing as they wlshed Some went bowling, shopping, skating and to the movies At five we all were back in the bus for a trlp to the Omaha airport Here we were taken into the room where our weather is analyzed and forecasted Then we climbed spiral steps to the con trol tower to learn how planes were instructed ln landlngs and takeoffs A few of the daring souls had a r1de on an alrplane and had an airview of Omaha and Council Bluffs. We then drove to Marchios, an Italian restaurant, where our supper awaited us. After finishing our respective Itallan and American dinners, we soon arrived at the Ice Capades, the climax of our eventful day. At 11:15 everyone raced back to the bus to get the best seats and we were off on our noisy ride home. Water gun fights, the boys singing, and Barbara being sick helped to make the time fly until we drove into Genoa at 2 o'clock coming to the end of our perfect day. ------------------- , . , if Flower ------------------ ------ Crimson and White Roses N ' ll .3 n , M. . e ' J to
