Alill llWllllliMl lS We, the staff of the Limelight for 1950, thank everyone who helped make the publication of this book possible. We are especially indebted to the following: The merchants and business places who so willingly gave us their ad- vertising. Without their financial assistance, this annual could not have been published. The people who so kindly gave us their subscriptions. The Myers and Company, Topeka, Kansas, for printing and assembling this edition. The National School Studios for coming to the school and taking the individual pictures of all the students. Ronald Sabin for aiding the staff in soliciting advertising. Harold Weaver and Henry Krukemyer for furnishing transportation when needed. The Powell Studios of Detroit, Michigan, for taking Senior and group pictures. To Mr. Joseph Rinaldo for taking and developing special pictures. To Miss Laverl Foos for giving her time and effort to be our Limelight advisor. A million thanks!! To Mr. Digby for being the general business manager. -The '50 STAFF. Q 4

EDWIN E. DIGBY Superintendent Congratulations to the annual staff for its preparation of this splendid record of the I949-1950 school year. May its generous number of photo- graphs recall many pleasant memories, memories that grow increasingly dear with the passing of the years to our wholesome family of Clay-Genoa students and teachers. JOHN C. ROBERTS Principal Many of you have passed through this school for the last time. What you learned here during your short stay should serve as a guide in the greater absorption of knowledge. Your freedom from the regimentation of the school day will not be as great as it now appears. But it will still be possible to find much satisfaction and independence in the educational process that living continually provides for all of us. 6
