Council develops new activities I One of the most active groups at GHS is the Student Council. This year the Student Council initiated many new programs, and kept the spirit of their older programs with their hard work and enthusiasm. The Student Council added football to their intramural program, joining the already established volleyball. Many students participated in a Council sponsored ping-pong tournament, the first of its kind. October's Homecoming was spiced by another innovation: the election of a Homecoming King and Homecoming Princes. At Christmastime, the Council worked for Operation Merry Christmas by having a canned goods collection contest between Mr. Ninestine and their advisor. Mr. Wheeler. The project turned out well; especially for the needy people who benefited from Operation Merry Christmas, and for the victorious Mr. Ninestine, who delighted in plastering Mr. Wheeler’s face with a pie.
