Linking the present to the past, members of the elective Government class visited Washington D.C. in November and saw many historic sites. Leading the students was Mrs. Karol. Some of the interesting spots that they visited were the Jefferson Memorial, pictured LEFT, the Washington Monument, the White House, and the Supreme Court. During the fall some students furthered future interests by attending Hobart Seminars. That group is pictured BELOW.

Students concerns: past and future Geneva High students show an awareness of the importance of past history and the future’s hopes in their extracurricular past-times and curricular. Many students are involved in working with the citizens of the future, elementary school children. These seniors are a part of a recent program instituted as part of the curriculum, STAP. or Student Assistant Teacher Program. From their experiences working with the younger children, they gain an understanding of the learning habits and behavior of early elementary age children. RIGHT- Mary Ellen Ch mplin and Allison Rugar work with kindergarteners. LOWER LEFT- Joanne Reese assists her charges with a reading question. LOWER RIGHT- Dawn Moracco and Sandy Bruno pose with their proteges. r

We the people. . . are involved Geneva High School students participate in various community activities. ABOVE: Each year the Marching Band performs in the annual Geneva Firemen's Parade. ABOVE RIGHT: Several students and faculty made a unique contribution to the annals of local history last fall by taping a Walking Tour of Geneva homes that have particular historical or architectural interest. Also in the fall of '75. students, under the aegis of the Geneva Historical Society, worked on a census of the Washington Street Cemetery. Pictured at the far right are six of the many seniors who prepared themselves for jobs in the community. The young men were students in the Service Station program at BOCES. Finally, at the lower right is Vince Alonso, the GHS junior who designed the City of Geneva's Bicentennial Logo. 12
