DEDICATION Far above the old lakes foaming, reared against the sky, proudly stands our school, dear Geneva High. Geneva High is more than a group of people running to and fro. It’s a school of warmth and laughter. It’s a place of buzzing halls, busy students, blithe teachers, and bubbling ideas. It’s filled with friendly smiles and kind gestures. The everyday occurences make this school: “Our School.” Do you remember the times you barely made it to your seat before the tardy bell? Do you remember the maddening rush to get to the class on the third floor after swimming? Do you remember how embarrassing it was the time you slipped on the stairs, or the day you dropped a lunchtray in the cafeteria? It’s quite impossible to forget the beautiful balls, the plays, the musical, and all the games we won and sometimes lost. The colorful scenes of multicolored leaves were all too soon replaced by mounds of sparkling white snow. The frowns could not be counted the day of the first snow fall; neither could the smiles when school was dismissed early. Time inexorably moved on. Soon the Spring ushered in rain and mud along with the cheerful song of the first robin. The smell of the blossoming buds through open windows made even the teachers daydream. Summer’s heat made it even more difficult to study for those dreaded exams. With the ending of the school year, despite the longed for gowns and dipolmas, there was a feeling of sadness, mixed with anticipation of the future. Our years at Geneva High can never be relived, but neither can they be forgotten. Never will we permit to die the happy memories indelibly etched in classroom and hall. We dedicate this edition of Seneca Saga to Geneva High School, a living institution, dedicated through its philosophy and staff to the continuation of “moments to remember” and growth for all.
