SOPHOMORE CLASS OFFICERS Seated: Marcia Levey, secretary; Helen Chiverton, treasurer. Standing: Phil Povero, president; Claire DerCola, vice-president. Entering GHS amid the thunder of construction, the sophomore class launched an active year. It’s chief money-making project was a stationery drive that left the community well stocked with personalized writing paper. Several bake sales were also held to supplement the class purse. During the Christmas season, Geneva’s sophomores spent long cold hours ringing bells for the Salvation Army. Later, participating in a school service program, they donated and packed crates of food and toys. To end the year on a springy note, the class of 1969 sponsored a people-packed sophomore hop. 30
