Class History Just how excited is it possible for a group of students to be? This question can only be answered by a new class of sophomores entering high school, and our class was no exception. New teachers, a new building, and new responsibilities made September 1959 a hectic but wonderful month. After our officers got into the groove we undertook the traditional projects of selling pencils and basketball programs. The big social event of the year was our Sophomore Hop, “Holiday of Hearts.” As Juniors we filled our treasury with proceeds from the football refreshment stand, our spring magazine drive, and the Junior Play, “Onions in the Stew.” As a result of the success of these projects we presented our memorable Junior Prom, “Enchanted Fathoms.” Almost before realizing it, our class entered its third and final year at G.H.S. Once again our magazine drive helped finance a memorable evening. February 4, 1961, marked our Senior Ball, “Shangri-la.” Our final public offering as a class was “The Desk Set,” our hilarious Senior Play. For every class of excited sophomores, there is always a class of reminiscent Seniors, and once again our class is no exception. 10
