Qua Su i The size of our world in relation to the universe has materially decreased ever since you became high school seniors. The importance of more complete world cooperation and understanding is far more vital than was believed necessary just a year ago. As you go out from high school to pursue higher education or into other endeavors you will be confronted with seemingly insurmountable challenges because of the unprecedented progress in scientific developments. Your generation’s greatest contribution to society can be the bringing about of respect and understanding of all national ideologies and the channelling of our scientific progress toward the betterment of mankind rather than its destruction. Those of us who have had a part in your public school education have confidence that you can and will meet these challenges. We are also aware that the challenges can be met only with courage, diligence, initiative and self-determination on the part of each individual. My personal best wishes for your success. Melvin C. Livingston, Superintendent of Schools. To the Seniors: Throughout your school career you have looked forward in anticipation and trepidation to your final year in Geneva High School, and now so quickly has it passed! The beautiful Senior Ball, which will be long remembered, the teams that fought so valiantly, the plays, the Panther’s Pride, the Viking Yearbook — all compacted into a single year. And now you are on the threshold of a new adventure, an ever-expanding adventure of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We of die administration and faculty congratulate you and wish you well in this new adventure. Albert C. Lindemann, Asst. Superintendent of Schools. 11
