Ou l Pbincifxali At the opening assembly of your Senior year, I reminded you that the leadership of the Senior Class would be the most important determinant in effecting whatever tone and attitude the student body would reach this year. You were privileged to be put to the test at the time of our evaluation. I was proud of you when the committee made special note of the morale and self-governing aspects of the student body. May each of you continue to seize every opportunity to make yourselves contributing citizens of the community, state, and nation. S. B. Wuertenberger, Principal. To the class of ’59: Having successfully completed your secondary education you are now going forth to greater achievements. With the preparation and inspiration you now have and with determination to succeed you should do well. Good luck to you. Arthur J. McCann, Vice-Principal. 9

Though many of us have never come into personal contact with the members of the Board of Education, we are all aware of the important part they play behind the scenes of our school and community. This year the Board has been engaged in initiating a study of an enlarged city school district. This would bring many non-resident students into the district. Another problem is that of finding space for approximately 200 elementary school students who are now housed in the high school, since there is no room in the three elementary schools. We extend our best wishes and congratulations to the Board for the job they are doing. 10
