FOREWORD As the Class of '58 we are proud to present our volume of the Seneca Saga. Through its pages, with the help of art work, photographs, and literary articles, we hope to convey to you an overall view of our accomplishments. Four years have gone by and we find ourselves on the verge of entering an entirely new life. Some of our most cherished memories concern the music for which Geneva High is noted. For this reason we have chosen music as the theme for our yearbook. The significance of the musical notes interspersed throughout the book is to arouse in our memories various school concerts, band and chorus rehearsals, records and orchestras to which we have danced, jubilant singing in buses, and the wail of a few seniors trying to harmonize. Three quotations, taken from pertinent songs, are found on the cover and division pages. These quotations most nearly express our feelings concerning each particular section. We are indebted to Mrs. Small and Mr. Epley for their invaluable assistance in the production of the Seneca Saga. Their advice, patience, and cooperation have been deeply appreciated. Miss White, who corrected all the literary work, also deserves our special thanks. In the Seneca Saga we have included individual pictures of the seniors and accounts of their achievements. The pages set aside are enhanced by photographs of memorable occasions, and the class history. The history consists of a brief resume of our activities and some philosophical advice for the underclassmen. Also portrayed individually is the faculty, who has carefully guided us through our studies and activities. In addition, our extracurricular activities, with special emphasis on Student Council, the Music Department, and athletics, are pictured and described. We wish to acknowledge Varden Studios for its outstanding photography, and the Almarco Printing Company for printing our material with such care, especially Mr. Cowan, who helped considerably with the layout arrangement. Georgia State College granted us permission to use a quotation from its Alma Mater and we are very grateful. And now, you will read the Saga of our Senior Class, the Class of '58, the Class with a song in its heart. 4
