Srdtratton The Class of 1956 hereby dedicates the thirty-second volume of our yearbook, The Seneca Saga, to Miss Helen VanNortwick, as a token of our appreciation for her fine services to Geneva High School. During the past years Miss VanNortwick has willingly devoted a great part of her time to the growth and progress of our school. We consider it an honor and a privilege to have been under the supervision of such a splendid woman, who has won our admiration and respect. 4
3 n r t iu o r b In order to preserve the fond and happy memories of our high school career, the Seneca Saga Staff presents Volume 32 of the Seneca Saga for your enjoyment. Within the pages of this book you, the reader, will see us individually and read of the joining of these individuals into functioning groups, which form the backbone of G.H.S. community life. The Senior Division, you will find, tells of our class member’s accomplishments during his four years in high school. Tucked neatly away in a separate section you will find the Administration, which consists of the Board of Education, the Superintendent, the Principals, the Teachers, and the School’s Office-workers. For their gentle prods toward the right direction when we were bogged down, we thank them. Sports are very prominent elements in a well-rounded school program, so we have devoted a section to them. We are proud of our sports record, not only for our victories but for our high sportsmanship standards. Our activities, as you will see, have been numerous and varied. In this section we will re-enact the extra-curricular activities in which we have participated while at Geneva High School. Also we will review with you our moments of play and nonsense. It is at this time that we would like to thank our patient and hard-working advisors, Mr. Pfeifer and Mr. Epley. Also we wish to thank Mr. Rogers for his assistance on the layout. For excellent photography throughout the book, we have the Varden Studios to thank. We appreciate, also, the cooperation and help our printers, the Almarco Printing Company, have given us. We hope that the Class of 1956 will live on in the years to come, through the reading and re-reading of this annual. 5
