For your leadership in maintaining the traditional high standing of Geneva High School in scholarship and in student activities, I thank the members of the Class of 1955. For success in whatever worthy ventures you may undertake in the future, I extend best wishes. Good luck to each and everyone. W. Lynn Houseman Superintendent of Schools. To the Class of ’55— May you always be the financial wizards you were during your Senior year. Good luck and best wishes. Arthur J. McCann. The best that I could hope or wish for the members of the Class of 1955 would be that your goals and objectives remain as clear and high as they have been during the four years with us and that with all the seriousness of purpose that the world will require in the years that come, you will never lose your cheerful, optimistic approach to life. S. B. Wuertenberger. r‘ ■ 7

NEW SCHOOLS FOR GENEVA—Two one-story school buildings, of simple, but modern design, will open their doors to Geneva’s children at the beginning of the new school year in September, 1956. Planned to meet educational needs for the present and foreseeable future, these buildings provide a pleasing environment where pupil safety and health are important considerations. Each building is located on a relatively large plot. The architect is utilizing natural light through large areas of glass. Exteriors are of brick, with stone trim for contrast. The elementary school with facilities for over 700 pupils is located on West Street, facing east. Separate play areas are provided for different age groups. A multi-purpose cafeteria-auditorium and a gymnasium provide modern facilities for school and community use. The new junior high school is located on West North Street. While a one-story building, it is on three levels to conform to the contour of the land. With facilities for 700 pupils, it includes a cafeteria to serve 260 at one sitting. Adequate space provisions are made for shops, homemaking, library, nature museum, student activities, general science, music, rifle range, and a gymnasium which will serve the community as well as the school. The new schools are the result of cooperative planning by the architect, John C. Ehrlich, the staff, the Board of Education, and specialists in the New York State Education Department. In short, Geneva now has a complete modern school plant which should meet present and future needs adequately insofar as may be predicted with assurance. 6
