THQ rffwf' 7 Sponsored by BUCKMASTER DRUG STORE and P SENIOR EMoR1E As we look back in memory to the beginning of our education in 1944, we remember a class of 35 prize first grade pupils. Nolan Koons was so smart that Miss Fravel had him stand outside the first grade door several times to wait until the rest of the class caught up with him. Time passed, and we changed little. Sometime during our fifth year, Mark Hylton discovered he liked butterflies and began what Mrs. Augusburger calls an extraordinary collect1on. fl wonder if someone will ever chase Mark with a nety. During the years, several of our classmates deserted us. However, we found others to replace them, and they have succeeded admirably. A few of the teachers who gravely instructed us in our formative years have disappeared also--those remaining are Miss Fravel, Mrs. Shephard, Mrs. Augusburger, and Mr. Long. ln high school we sold magazines: had bake and noodle sales: and sold candy, pop corn, and cokes during noon hours and ballgameg, We pl'8SCl'lICd IWO P18yS, Father Knows Best and People are Funny , under the direction of Mrs. Rhoades and Mrs. Van Matre. Some of the moments we will always remember are the day we received our class rings fand some of the fellows lost themj, receiving our graduation pictures, sending out graduation announcements with name-cards enclosed, and the night one of our senior fellows tried to sneak in a base- ment window to see a bunch of redheads play basketball. Of course, the happiest and saddest night of all was graduation night, May II--the last time we were together as a class--the night we became alumni of G. H. S. and left the school to go our separate ways. UD'S PURE OIL STATION, Geneva, Indiana Page 26 ' r ' ' T WW'W ml'lI'FWiW'lI W Il1ll'W'!l'EWMMWAVIIFNWHIIWIIIRIIW
