CLASS HISTORY CLASS FLowER: American Beauty Rose CLASS CoLoRs: Red and White CLASS Morro: Ever Upward, Ever Onward In the fall of 19318, thirteen of our present class entered the Geneva Public School as meek first graders. Our experiences were few during our iirst eight years, but our gains were many. Wesley Miller, Marjorie Affolder, Max Stucky, Jerry Parr, Mary Jones, Nadean Manning, Kenneth Doherty, Eugene Schindler, and Connie Craig joined us to help make up our present class. As freshmen, we entered the high school assembly on September 2, 1946, for the first time. Here we were assigned the back section of seats. After school had been in session for a Week or more, we elected our class sponsor, Phyllis Jackson fLautzenheiserj, and our officers: president, Beverly Parr: vice president, Joe Potter, secretary, Jeannine Reasoner: treasurer, Wesley Miller: and news reporter, Vernon Nevil. We also chose our motto, Ever Upward, Ever Onward, our colors, red and white, and our fiower, American Beauty rose. At the beginning of this year, we found in our midst the new students, Jeannine and John Reasoner, but some of our old classmates were missing. We enjoyed a hayride in September out to Melvena Burry's and another hayride in April, out to Wesley Miller's. In April we participated in the all-school festival. Beverly Parr and Jeannine Reas- oner were elected by our class to serve as attendants to the senior queen. We all made a grand rush for seats on September 3, 1947, for this year we were not bashfulg we were sophomores. We held a class meeting early in the year and elected of- ficers as follows: president, Jerry Rockeyg vice president, Howard Booherg secretary, Carmania Fields, and treasurer, Wesley Miller. During the year we welcomed Jerry Rockey, Alice Myers, and Christine Redford. We said farewell to Melvena Burry, Beatrice Mc,CroSky, and Alice Myers. We again enjoyed a hayride out at Wesley Miller's in September and in April we had a party in the high school gym. Again Beverly Parr and Jeannine Reasoner were chosen by the class to attend the senior queen in the spring all-school festival. We entered the assembly for the third year as beaming juniors. Earline Bollenbach- er, a new student, joined our class. Since our sponsor, Mrs. Lautzenheiser, did not re- turn, we were stranded without a sponsor, Mr. Hunt called us together and we elected Miss Blanche Aspy as our sponsor. During the year we received our class rings, sold Christmas cards, sponsored Nancy Lee and the Hilltoppersj' took a trip to Indianapolis and invited the seniors as our guests. In March we presented the class play Home Came Hattie. On September 6, 1949, we came walking through the assembly doors as proud sen- iors. Miss Aspy, our sponsor, called a class meeting in which we elected the following officers: president, Merlin Bixlerg vice president, Jerry Parr, secretary, Christine Red- ford, and treasurer, Wesley Miller. We all enjoyed a hayride out to Bill Armstrongs on November the 12th. The high lights of our senior year were many and exciting. We received our graduat- ing pictures, name cards, and announcements, sponsored a skru-balli' game: present- ed our class play, 'tJust Ducky , published Volume X of The Legend of the Limber- lost g took our senior trip to Washington, D. C., and New York: and participated in the county music festival, and the all-school festival in which Nadean Manning was the senior queen. Our baccalaureate service was held in the school gym on the seventh of May and the graduation exercises were held the following night. - Farewell to the Geneva High School and all it has been to us! Farewell to our teachers and their patience that they have sometimes lost because of us! Farewell to our past and greetings to our future! 'Twelve
