S., launched out on this new adventure called High School on September 6, 1949, with an enrollment of forty- four students. Early in October Mrs. Bernice Van Matre was chosen as our class sponsor, and the following class oflicers were elected for the school year: David Stucky, presidentg Jim Pyle, vice presi- dent, Kay MacWhinney, secre- tary, Carol Amstutz, treasurer. On November 8, 1949, we en- joyed a hayride to the home of Carol Amstutz, where we had a g wiener roast and played games. During the year we have lost five of our original forty-four members, namely: Jack Far- ber, Harvey Hendricks, Burley Ray Hough, Fred Werst, and Lydia Graber. However, two new students, Biruta Birznieks and Juanita Rhodes, have helped offset this loss, and make our present total forty-one members. A I We are looking forward to another party in the Spring and three more successful years in Geneva High School. l , Nineteen K
